When: Sunday January 6, 2013

Where: Niagara County Community College, Main Gymnasium- H Building, 3111 Saunders Settlement Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132

Start Times: Session 1 starts at 10:00 AM: Divisions 1, 2 & 3
Session 2 starts at 1:00 PM: Divisions 4 & 5
Weigh-Ins: Saturday January 5: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (All Divisions)

Sunday January 6: 7:00 – 8:00 AM (All Divisions) & 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Division 4 & 5)

Registration: $22.00 per wrestler

All registrations will be done through the membership portal at nyway.org

All wrestlers must registered and paid by Thursday January 3, 2013 at 10:00 PM

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE ON-LINE, NO WALK-INS WILL BE ACCEPTED

D1 (2007/2006): 37, 40, 43, 46, 50, 55, 60, 65, HWT (max 85)
D2 (2005/2004): 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 95, HWT (Max 115)
D3 (2003/2002): 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 115, 125, HWT (Max 145)
D4 (2001/2000): 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, HWT (Max170)
D5 (1999/1998): 80, 88, 96, 103, 112, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 175, HWT (MAX 190)

No weight allowance, Wrestlers must make weight or they will not wrestle, NO REFUNDS
Wrestlers can only participate in one division
Rules: N.Y.S. Modified High School rules, Periods: D1, 2, 3 (1-1-1) & D4, 5 (1:30-1:30-1:30)
Overtime Rules: 1 minute neutral sudden victory, :30 Ultimate Ride Out, choice goes to first points scored, if no score
then choice is determined by a coin flip

Awards: Impressive Awards will be presented to the top 4 place winners in each bracket

Admission: Adults $2.00, Students $1.00, Children 5 & under free

Concessions: Will be available all day in the Cafeteria

All wrestlers must have a current NYWAY membership in order to participate in this event. To get your NYWAY membership, visit the membership section at nyway.org Cards will NOT be sold on site.

The Quality Hotel & Suites in Niagara Falls, NY will be the host hotel of the 2013 NYWAY Kick-Off Classic. It islocated within walking distance of the scenic Niagara Falls, the Seneca Niagara Casino and many other shops and restaurants. It is also only a 15 minute drive to the tournament site. Big Red Kickoff Registration: UPDATE

The good news is that NYWAY has eclipsed 2000 registered members! The bad news is that this rush of everyone to get registered has caused some issues with our registration page.

Registration to the Big Red Kickoff will be extended. You can walk-up to register at weigh ins at Cornell’s Friedman Wrestling Center for either the Saturday 4-5pm or Sunday 6-7am weigh in. Tickets will be handed out at weigh-ins. For those utilizing satellite weigh-ins, registration will be at the ticket office in the from of Bartels Hall 8-9am Sunday. Tickets will be picked up then.

Big Red Kickoff Info Update

ATTENTION: Wrestling will begin at 9am and will include ALL age groups. Newman Arena (in Bartels Hall) will be open at 8am along with concessions. Cost of ticket for admission to the entire day’s event (Big Red Kickoff & CU vs. Lehigh dual) is $5 if purchased before 11am.

Weigh-ins are in the Friedman Wrestling Center from 4-5pm Saturday and 6-7am Sunday ONLY. If you cannot make it to either of these, contact clintwattenberg@nyway.org. 10 & Under will finish in the AM session if possible, with the 11&12 and 13-14/15 age group finishing after the Cornell vs. Lehigh match (~3:30pm).

Age Group is determined by the wrestler’s age on December 31, 2011.
Tournaments have the option to block Heavyweights to ensure matches; however there should be no more than a 20 pound spread between competitors in age group 07/06/05, no more than a 25 pound spread between competitors in age groups 04/03 and 02/01. And a 30 pound spread between competitors in age groups 00/99 and 98/97.

Anyone born in 1996 must send proof that they are still in 8th grade when they register for their NYWAY membership.

Match lengths are as follows:
05-07: 3 periods- 60 seconds each with no break-disc flip
03-04: 3 periods- 60 seconds each with no break-disc flip
01-02: 3 periods- 90 seconds each with no break-disc flip
99-00: 3 periods- 90 seconds each with no break-disc flip
96(97)-98: 3 periods- 90 seconds each with no break-disc-flip
